This 6 week course has been developed to provide students the opportunity to learn more about:
- Hate crimes in higher education,
- Providing support for victims, and
- Campaigning and social change campaigns.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
In addition to the workshops detailed above, we are excited by the other activities that our students will engage with:
Enrolled students will complete the University of Leicester's Centre for Hate Studies training on 'Hate Crime in Higher Education'. Students will receive a certificate to verify that they have completed the training.
Students will have the opportunity to engage with the #NeverOK campaign, support activities as part of National Hate Crime Awareness Week, and reviewing local and national campaigns.
Finally, students will collaborate to create multimedia projects to form a visual exhibition on campus. These projects could include: launching their own campaign or creating short awareness raising videos, as examples.
A course syllabus will be available for registered students in September.
This course has been created by Dr. Aurelien Mondon, Josh Callander and Katy Brown.
